Frequently asked questions
Why is my daily goal different from yesterday?
The goal is recalculated every morning from your profile (weight, age, gender, activity level), the day’s weather where you are, and the active minutes Apple Health or Health Connect has recorded. Hot or humid weather raises the goal. A long workout raises it further. If you haven’t granted Health or Location permissions, the goal falls back to your climate preference and stays more stable day-to-day.
I’m not getting reminders
Three checks, in order:
- System notifications. iOS: Settings → Notifications → Water Reminder → Allow Notifications. Android: Settings → Apps → Water Reminder → Notifications.
- In-app toggle. Open Water Reminder → Settings → confirm “Reminders” is on.
- Schedule. Reminders run hourly between your wake-up and sleep times. If wake-up is 09:00 and it’s currently 08:30, the next reminder fires at 09:00.
On iOS, Focus modes (Do Not Disturb, Sleep, Work) can silence reminders. Water Reminder uses time-sensitive notifications that respect your Focus settings — if you’ve allowed time-sensitive interruptions, they’ll still come through.
The app didn’t add a bump for my workout
Two things to check:
- Did you grant Apple Health (or Health Connect) permission during onboarding? You can re-grant it from Settings → Health.
- The app reads active minutes from your activity rings or Health Connect — not raw step count. Walking typically counts; very light activity may not. Harder workouts log more active minutes and trigger larger bumps.
Bump rate+25 ml per 10 active minutes. A 60-minute workout adds about 150 ml.
How do I delete my data?
Uninstalling the app permanently wipes all on-device data — profile, log history, streaks, preferences. To also delete the anonymous analytics profile we have on Mixpanel, email engineering@habuild.in with “Data deletion” in the subject. Requests are actioned within 30 days under GDPR, CCPA, and India’s DPDP Act 2023.
Can I export my history?
Not today — the app stores data on your device only. If iCloud or cloud export ships in a future version, we will mention it in the release notes and update the privacy policy.
Is my data private?
Profile and water logs stay on your device. Anonymous usage events go to Mixpanel (EU region). We do not collect your email, phone number, precise location, or any payment information. Full details in the privacy policy.
I logged the wrong amount
You have five seconds to undo any log — a toast appears at the bottom of the home screen with an “Undo” button. After five seconds the log is committed; balance it later with a smaller custom amount the next time you log.
Does it work on iPad, Apple Watch, or Wear OS?
iPad: yes, in portrait or landscape. Apple Watch and Wear OS: not yet — on the roadmap.
